My level on the profile page (129) is different from my level on the dashboard (130), which in this special case also leads to two different Kaochan on these pages.
That's normal. On the right is your account level (same as the one on your profile), and one the left is the level of your current Kao-chan. That's also why you see a different Kao-chan on your profile :) Assuming your "Display" Kao-chan is different I guess. You can tap/click on your current Kao-chan and change that from "Collection".
Because of the level new Kao-chan's start at, there's a progressively widening gap between the two. That's why my current Kao-chan's level isn't 74 (from 974-900), but 83. It's 74+9 = 83, I'm on my 9th new Kao-chan.
I see, you have the same problem, so probably everyone has. I think and you probably mean the same the difference of 9 levels for you and 1 level for me comes from you being in 9 hundred plus levels and me being in the 1 hundred plus levels. So it is a systematic error or difference increasing every 100 levels by one.
It's not really a "problem", that's just how the system works. You get a new Kao-chan at level 100, but that Kao-chan starts at level 1, not level 0. And then I guess it's every 99 levels for the next Kao-chan.
I think it would be 100+99*C, where C is the number of new Kao-chan's you have. So I'd get my next Kao-chan at 100+99*9 = 991, and you'd get your second (new) one at 199.
PS: It might still be a "distance" of 100, I don't feel like doing the exact math, even if it's very basic :D
Edit: Wait, I'm dumb, it's always an interval of 99. Each Kao-chan cycle is always 99 levels long. Anyway, my math up top should be correct.
