It's very annoying when you search an English word which happens to have the same structure as Japanese words (like "line", "like" or "you") and the first results are romaji results (for example searching "line" gives (いね), イネーブル(イネーブルしんごう), イネーブル, イネーブラ, イネーブラー, イネーブルメント and only after that it gives you (せん), "line". A toggle button to switch between romaji search and English or anything similar could probably work here

I've put some work into this. You should see, in the dictionary, the option to convert it to Japanese. This will only appear (and stay present) when the entire search string can be converted into clean kana. So line would bring it up, but liner would not.

"you" does not work great, as there are some conflicting priorities in the search results, but this is unrelated to this feature.

Please try it out, let me know what you think!

"Convert to Japanese when searching" <- can this checkbox be on permanently? It seems to reset on page load. Or perhaps it would be better to have some kind of syntax to force the search to be in english. I don't know how other people use the dictionary, but I almost never search in english.

Also if I wanted to search for something like "はる*" the checkbox doesn't appear when I type "haru*" so it won't do what I intended. It seems I'd have to write "haru", then check the box.

These are good points - instead of permanently, which suits your usage, how about it remembers what it was set to last?

As to the wildcard issue, that should be fixed now.

Sure, that sounds fine too. Thanks.

Might want to handle - for ー also. Example: searching for "ra-men"

Also doesn't work on words ending in "n" such as "kan", "fuan", etc.
