Hi, I noticed that when you learn a new kanji, it will reset the mastery level of the words including said learned kanji (which I already learned beforehand in hiragana/katakana) but only for the first so far unknown kanji in the word.

Let's take /びよういん as an example. At some point, I knew only the hiragana word. Then I learned the Kanji and the words mastery level was reset to 0%, which makes sense because now you have to learn and remember additionally which kanji are included in the word.

But next time, when you learn either or , the mastery won't be reset anymore. Yesterday, I learned and the mastery of the word is still at 100%. I have to manually "view terms" of the vocabulary schedules, search for the respective kanji and then reset each word.

My proposal would be, if technically feasible of course, to add a pop-up after every freshly learned kanji saying sth. like "This Kanji you just learned is part of these words: *list* Would you like to reset their mastery level and if so, to which level?" including a Dropdown with all the available mastery levels and a "No thanks" option. It could also include a "Remember this choice for all future kanji and do not ask again"-checkbox or so. Alternatively, same thing as a general settings option.

This setting has been in the Vocabulary section for a long time now :)

Thanks and sorry! I was looking up and down the schedule settings.

Why is the standard "do nothing (recommended)" from a learning perspective, if I may ask?

Not so much a learning perspective, but a "don't scare users with sudden changes in mastery" perspective :)
