I'd recommend using this app you are using. There are schedules on the main page to start with, and under the hamburger menu Resources like Japanese lessons to go with your schedules. I don't know anymore than that yet.

As Zeta said start with hiragana then katakana as you should know how to read the basic characters before moving on to words. Once you got the hang on a good chunk of words, start kanji. In between that, you can try learning grammar structures and sentence structures. And just like that, you'll be able to say something or write something (at least read something) in Japanese before you know it.
