Forums - How to change/set the time to learn/review for the day?

Normally, you would review/learn new words/kanji/grammar, and then wait 24 hours, then you wait the same 24 hours to review/learn at that time again.

The problem with this is that sometimes the timing is very inconvenient when I'm too busy to review/learn, and the time changes to a time very inconvenient, like 3:00 AM (for me) but then I find myself not busy and i really want to do review/learn but i can't because i have to wait to 3:00 AM to do them.

that you would probably say Just don't do it at 3:00 AM and when you wake up the timing will change? Right. i did try that but some days i very busy the entire day so only i can do that before sleep, but sometimes to go to 3:00 AM AGAIN and so many times I'm just too late to reach it by just a few minutes and the reviews stacks.

is there a button to do reviews/learn at a specified time because i can't find it in settings.

i had to reset my account three times because it's just too much to deal with.

thank you

You can change the time from 3:00 in the settings. From the first panel (About me), scroll down until you see Schedule refresh.

However, I think this may be the right solution to the wrong problem. Why exactly did you feel compelled to reset so many times?

it's because the reviews stacks and i mean alot sometimes it just tedieos to do them when i see the large numbers of reviews of all word/kanji/grammar if the time was 3:00 AM and i see the big numbers of reviews i just go to sleep, some other times i just can't do all of them at the same time so i try to split the day but i always fail to do them and they stack even more,

i rest my account many times because i'm trying to configure renshuu to my liking (enable/disable some setting, lower the amount of reviews and even learn stuff) but i always end up with alot to do, before i rest my account last time in had over 300 words to review daily for both words/kanji not becasue i don't do them but becasue i always just a little to late to the fixed timing just for them stack and i can't even do them all in one day so i just give up and rest, this time i put bot words and kanji learned to 5 per day very and they still stacks. why i can't just start learning when i want

adding this feature won't mess things up, Right? because if someone wants to learn more in the same day they just click focused reviews. Right?

I don't quite follow. You're not forced to learn new terms. You can enable this setting, and just do your reviews when things start stacking up too much. I would never reset my account because of reviews stacking. You have every tool available to customise your experience so that what you're describing doesn't happen.

Make sure you don't overdo the vectors. "Allow a term to be studied multiple times..." adds a lot of review, so I'd recommend having it off.

You can also customise the spacing of your schedules. Basically your SRS intervals.

can I ask you a question?

if you have 400 reviews how are meant to decrease them?

do i just do 400 reviews a day until one day they decrease?

Just do one hundred. If you still have the time and energy after that, do another hundred. If you don’t get through all of today’s terms, you can try again tomorrow.

The review count should come down eventually, but even if it doesn’t, who cares? The main point is that you’re learning.

If you simply want to do less reviews a day, you can set a daily study goal. Uncheck "study as much as I can" and set it to something you're comfortable with.

Otherwise, you can see how many terms you'll get for review (x days in the future) when you look at a schedule. If I stopped adding new terms (I add 5-15 a day for this schedule) I'd see a noticeable drop in the amount of terms I need to review daily within a few days to a week. Keep in mind that I do all of my daily reviews.

It might be visually annoying, but having a lot of terms for review trailing behind isn't really a problem. If it still bothers you, tinker with the settings I showed you and decrease your daily new terms.

I'd also be careful with grammar. Personally, I find grammar quite exhausting. I'd rather do 200 vocab questions than 20 grammar questions :D

If you don't finish all your scheduled reviews, whatever you don't finish will remain on the pile for tomorrow. That's how they accumulate. If you manage to finish them all, you'll be back down to a more reasonable number for tomorrow. But if you don't finish, changing the reset time won't do anything to what's already piled up.

Spaced Repetition works best when you do it as scheduled, if you miss one or more days and fall behind, you'll start forgetting. And if the review count is so high that nothing is getting reviewed until it's long overdue, that kind of just defeats the point of Spaced Repetition.

The hard part is that when you keep introducing new terms, you'll keep adding more reviews for those terms. What I do is look at how many reviews I have scheduled for the day and the forecast for tomorrow, and only introduce new terms when the review count is low enough (and also just when I feel like I have time for more today), pacing myself so that it never gets too large.

Pause new terms for your schedules and focus on clearing your backlog. Once you're at a point where you can keep up with your reviews as scheduled, figure out the right pace to start adding new terms again.

I just posted a thread in this forum talking about this very issue. On mobile, so hard for me to link it, but if you jump up to the Questions about renshuu section, you should see it best the top. It's stickied.
