To start taking notes I would suggest you first use the green symbol the add icon to add terms in your list.
Then I would recommend that you start creating your own notes by clicking on the three dots and then clicking on add usage note ( there will come an option : visible to me or visible to public . But if the word has too many mnemonics or notes the default will be "for me " only.)
=> Reading buddy can be a useful took for making your notes too.

Thanks! But what's a reading buddy?
Michael offered a few lessons of about 50min you can watch in the Japanese Lessons section; follow along and jot down important informations, just like how you would at school.
I checked out the lessons and there a lot! I didn't know offered lessos like that! I was taking notes bye writing down the grammar, kanji, examples etc... But I guess it would be easier to take notes like in school!
