What type of content are you into and what level of Japanese are you looking for? When you say "doesn't have to be fully comprehensible", do you mean like 50%, 75%, 90%?

Recently Im watching a Japanese person talk about their daily life and about different topics. Im a beginner N5 level maybekao_worry.png. Im okay with content that's 20%-50% understandable.

I started a long time ago but had to drop due to few reasons.I starting over again .I do understand beginner level sentences kao_think.png

I've seen people recommend "Comprehensible Japanese", around N5-N4. Looks alright and has subtitles/CC

"しのせんせい" has a lot of stories you can listen to (and read along)

If you don't mind animation (kind shows) 「はなかっぱ」チャンネル is pretty good. I like it more than beginner podcasts and random topics.

しましまとらのしまじろう is another kids show that's pretty good. The older stuff, we don't talk about the modern 3D show...

Hmm... N5 is quite limiting. Don't get me wrong, there's lots of content, but most of it is very dry and boring (at least to me). That's why I'd rather recommend Japanese kids shows (aimed at natives).

I'll look around some more. I could probably find some JP vlogs at around N4, if that's more your speed. Maybe travel vlogs?

I remember getting recommended this one:

No idea what level it would be though. Do you prefer stuff like this?

Probably N3+ though

Edit: If you look up よみきかせ (YouTube) you get some picture book read-alouds by Yamaguchi Kappei (voice actor).

Got it. A lot of what I suggested was a bit biased towards my own preferences. Now that I have a better idea of what you're looking for I'll see if I can find you something. kao_think.png

For the record I'm around low N2, so it's a bit hard for me to judge what is and isn't N5-N4. I typically just watch whatever native content I feel like.

The channel you linked is quite nice actually, I'll look for similar stuff.

Alright, I got a few things you might like.

This is from . They have a series (playlist) where they kinda break down popular songs. I'd say N4-N3 (probably kao_don.png). You also check out their other content.

This is a video from a playlist (street interviews). Subtitles are nice (no furigana though). I'd say N4+? English translation should make up for it though.

This channel looks pretty good. Has furigana, English and the guy speaks slowly and clearly. Labelled as N5-N4. Edit: I watched the whole thing, it was quite good. Doesn't have English throughout the whole thing (subs), but I think it's probably the best for you out of these.

Maybe this could interest you? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8UbgEgoOLI (44 Minutes Simple Japanese Listening - Japanese Food Culture (ENG SUB) #1)

The series has currently 63 videos each around 45-60min, and covers different topics of japanese culture, every day life, general world topics. Some of them even have vocab lists in the Community Lists here, if you want to learn new words ahead. Seems to be N4 when I copied it into the text analyzer.

All videos have a really structured text read out loud where you can read along. This text is read once in slow japanese and the text has furigana, then it is repeated a bit faster and without furigana. So on the second go, you can catch details that you missed the first time.

I like to listen to it like a podcast. I also like how some everyday topics are explained in detail that you already know but now hear in japanese, like paying in a supermarket, you know the process of shopping and can guess what you will hear next.

I got recommended this channel. Leaving it here for anyone who might be interested. They do slip in some higher level vocab (probably difficult to improv at exactly N5)

I watch "さきちゃん vlog " on youtube. She speaks slowly, makes simple sentences and there is subtiles. It's great for beginners
