I am doing a ton of database reorganization to slowly prime renshuu for having regional servers next year (exciting!)
In order to do that, there is a lot of data from old accounts that could be re-built if the user visits renshuu again, but otherwise, the data is taking up a ton of space. Specifically, schedule content.
I'd like to get a number of volunteers that actively study on renshuu to test this feature. Basically, here is what will happen.
1. Before testing, I will make a full copy of your schedules as backup. Absolutely nothing will be lost. 2. I will toggle this "this account is old, please archive the schedule" 3. Next time you use renshuu, it'll say "hey, they are back! Let's rebuild the schedule." 4. You use it normally, see if the overall schedule numbers/content seem to be ok.
This mechanism is ALREADY built into renshuu, I've just never used it at this scale, so I want to test it on as many accounts as possible. I've got multiple levels of backups, so everything will be somewhere if I need to get to it, but still, better safe than sorry!
All you have to do is drop a message in here if interested. I'll let you know when your account has been "activated".
*laughs* - thanks everyone. Will probably do it Monday or Tuesday, and only on vocab schedules (the process is the same for all, so no need to test the other ones).
Ok, the archive has been turned on for all vocab schedules for everyone above this message. If everything goes smoothly, then you should see no changes in your vocab schedules. The only small thing that might occur is a slightly longer than usual loading for schedules the first time (since you are having the schedules come out of an archive state), but in reality, you will probably only notice it if your schedules are 10,000 words or more.
Please report back if you notice any issues! I have full backups of all the schedule data, so I can easily roll it back if something got wiped.
I noticed that if I went to "View Terms" on a schedule (my Words for Beginner Japanese one), it would show "no terms available", despite having the correct counts in the filter drop-down. The issue fixed itself once I went to study the schedule for the first time today, then went back to "View Terms".

experienced something similar, but with a schedule that had similar community lists linked with another schedule.
i finished the other schedule, while the other list didn't seem to update. Then showed "no terms available".
resolved it by opening "more settings", then going back to the homepage. The list went to focused review.
