You get to choose a new "type" of kao-chan after you hit level 100. The "human" version is probably "student" (I think). I didn't choose that one, so I'm not 100% sure. I don't think it's gated behind Pro.
It has to do with your level, nothing to do with renshuu pro. My friend is level 100 and chose student amd had gotten a human looking one, amd they didn't have renshuu pro. Hope this helps!

This doesn't explicitly state it, but it's probably not limited to renshuu pro. I assume you can just "reset" and pick "student".
