The crossword pdf code is SO old, that I finally got around to rewriting it. (No kanji puzzles yet).
The option is available in the download panel for all kana crosswords.
Major changes to original
1. Cleaner font
2. Clues now match the type of clues on the screen (previously, no English clues).
3. Better looking layout (I think, heh.)
4. No longer a way to add the answers upside down on the panel - the QR code is required for that.
5. At the moment, cannot save the new PDF as a png, but I'm honestly not sure how much that is used.
PDFs are a tricky thing, where various sizes (of the puzzle, clues, etc.) can radically change how things appear, so I need a lot of testing. Ideally, issues with public puzzles (not the ones that are attached to your personal schedules) are easiest to work with.
If you have an issue, please post the category and name of the puzzle, and a screenshot of the pdf. renshuu does not support pdf uploads here.
Tried on a personal schedule puzzle. No down clues, and across clues were missing the final clue (number 46).
Name of puzzle included in PNG.
Tried it on a public puzzle (May 2025(#2 for N4: Kana), and found similar problems.
Since the length definition can vary wildly, maybe it would be more reasonable to keep them in a separate sheet.
Tested tonight with much success! This is wonderful!!!!
Finally able to send a japanese crossword from my own schedules/reading/books/resources directly to the kindle and write directly on the pdf!
No need for an internet connection or printing a hard copy - can write directly on the PDF works great!!!
now the hard part will be actually remembering the japanese words from the english
