When I’m drawing a kanji, a big red round squiggly thing pops up in the upper lefthand corner when I finish. What does it mean?

Remember that wrong is ❌ kao_no.png ☓ × ✓ etc.
While ⭕ kao_yes.png ○ is good, ◎ very good. And so are spirals, of course! It's more of a bouba than kiki ;)

Well, that does look similar indeed! XD
The hanamaru emoji is: 💮
Most, if not all, recent fonts make it look more like the stamp or sticker version of it rather than the handwritten spiral that would be used in earlier designs, but it's functionally still the same thing: よくできました!💯
