That number is your best recorded streak. If your current streak, e.g. 3, is lower than the number, e.g. 89 it won't change. You need your current streak to exceed that number for it to get updated.
So I need to be able to answer 89 grammar questions correctly in a row to earn that?! That’s crazy, I would never be able to do that. How did I get some of it to turn green already? I’ve certainly never gotten an 89 correct in a row.
The idea is to always keep pushing the boundary of what I’m learning, so I’m always introducing new material. So the likelihood that I’m ever going to get 89 correct in a row is zero. You can give me 1000 years. 😂 Even if I wasn’t introducing new material, I doubt I would ever get 89 correct in a row without making a single mistake. So we can kiss that quest goodbye. And if I managed by a miracle to get 89 correct in a row, what do you get? A lousy 350 coins. 🤣
Any motivational system should only be used if you are getting a net increase in motivation out of it. Very few systems have zero negatives (after all, the absence of a reward mechanism can be negative), so make sure it's helping you more than not.
Some of the quests are obtainable. This one is not. Unfortunately, it is going to sit there at the top of my list, looking like I am close to reaching the goal at 89/100, but never actually be achieved. A constant reminder of my failure 😞 😂
