This is the official thread for discussion on features and issues with the Sentence/Word markup project available under "Crowdsourcing Projects" in Support renshuu in the menu.
If you'd like to see a change or addition, please let me know here!
1. Monthly reports are now going out for your contributions.
2. Usage of this data in sentences will be REAL SOON.
Potential changes
1. Considering a setting so that if you mark a sentence, and your marking is what puts it into "accepted" category (each marking needs a certain number of independent entries to be validated), get a little bit of text letting you know.
2. Considering a setting: if you mark a definition that ends up getting rejected, get an inbox message letting you know the sentence, word, what you chose, and what was voted in.
3. Possibly adding this (optionally) on the quiz finish page, limiting it to word quizzes where you got the word correct, helping further reinforce what you just studied.
I like the transparency, and the idea of the inbox message. Some users (including myself) had inadvertently spammed wrong answers due to UI issues (and I had previously offered to return my Kao Garden coins and have my entries rolled back). It would be great to see my rejected answers and the accepted ones, for my learning.
I would still like to request a direct means of reporting an issue with a sentence that shows up, rather than having to search through the sentence library to find that one sentence out of many that have something common, like "にとって" or "通って".
I might go for the first one, but I will absolutely not keep it from being re-ordered. If you have a 20 definition list such as かける, I don't want them to have to scroll to find it, nor do I think auto-scrolling to the middle of the definitions (or wherever it happens to be) is ideal either.
If you aren’t going to keep the senses in order, then I’m not sure what point there is in even showing the other senses, especially if there are that many of them.
I simplified the language on the Crowdsourcing page, and added a new checkbox to let it pop up after quizzes, restricting the words that appear to ones that came up in your quiz! Hoping this will help encourage it as a way of further reviewing what you just did.
Also, considering removing the text about the kaocoins from the widget itself, and just keeping it on the crowdsourcing page, to make it less cluttered.
