A very easy rule of thumb (for some words!): adjective + に = adverb (like めに、 に)

Even though そんな is an unusual adjective it still refers to a noun.

そんな is used to describe nouns: そんなをまだまなかった。= I haven't yet read a book like that

そんなに is an adverb used to describe adjectives and verbs: そんなにいとはですよ。 = Such a cold [weather] is a problem.

Sonna :

It’s used to describe something that is distant from the speaker but is still within the same context or topic. "そんな" refers to a specific quality or thing that has already been mentioned or is understood in the conversation.

Sonnani :

It’s used to express an extent or degree, especially when referring to a large amount or a high degree of something. It often appears with adjectives or verbs to convey an emphasis on how much or to what extent something is tru

そんな is a descriptive term referring to a type or quality of something.そんなに expresses a degree, meaning "to such an extent" or "so much."

The dictionary is wrong, @ななし74 is right, そんな is an adjective. A special kind of adjective called an adnominal or 連体詞.

Just the adverb part. Don’t worry, it’ll get fixed.
