Sorry, I didn't get what you meant by it could be my region.. What about it? I'm in Germany, Europe..
The level doesn't mean much, it just means I've kept up with my daily reviews pretty much. I guess I would consider myself confident in N5 level stuff. I can read beginner books on like Tadoku and sometimes I can kind of understand some extremely beginner level manga Compymyon has for the book club.

Same here, but unfortunately I do dare go for manga because of my limited data (German data plans 😒) As for Kanji, I know much less than you. I started recently in learning Kanji. You know, I found in more than one post here on Renshuu that it'd be better to delay Kanji and not worry about it until the other alphabets and some grammar have been learnt. Now I realise that this was all wrong. Start with Kanji as early as possible because this will make your reading much smoother.
