That reminds me of Mum's pet. Almost same story... Only one difference... The vet made the final finishing move without telling them (he told them it was a new medication) because he was scared of the pet's disease developing into an infectious one and the family was really so attached to Sugar (the cat's name) that they would have never let go no matter what they heard about its disease. I'll ask my sister to take a photo of the Sugar (if there is) so that I can send it to you here.
