it’s natural to feel a mix of sympathy and concern, but also a strong need to protect your own space and mental well-being.
He seems totally gone and over. No good or bad heart. He seems to be a sheer lump of suffering. So much so that he seems he doesn't understand anymore why he is suffering. The embarrassing messages he sends to me... I'm almost sure he doesn't really understand what he is sending. Not linguistically speaking of course...
